Known for its rugged coastline and mountainous national parks, Wales is a country found in southwest Great Britain and is divided into six distinctive regions. The capital city of Cardiff is a refined coastal city known for its ornate gothic medieval castle, Cardiff Castle, which has become one of Wales’ most popular tourist destinations.
Snowdonia National Park, located in the northwest of the country, is Wales’ largest national park and is home to towering peaks and breathtaking valleys. Attracting nearly 4 million tourists annually, the park is filled with countless hiking trails, rich culture, Welsh heritage and history dating back to the Ice Age period.
For those who consider themselves more adventurous travellers, Abereiddi’s Blue Lagoon is known for its aqua blue water coloured by its former quarry status and is a popular spot for cliff jumping due to its deep waters. For more seaside adventures, head to Porthcawl in southern Wales, with sandy beaches attracting tourists as well as a miniature railway leading to Coney Beach, a take on Coney Island in New York City.

Swansea and Cardiff are arguably known for their vibrant nightlife and wide range of restaurants, with bars offering themed cocktails and historic pubs hosting live local music. Traditional dishes including cawl, rarebit, laverbread and bara brith are all regarded as symbols of Welsh food, so make sure to try a few whilst you’re visiting.
The Welsh language itself is part of the country’s everyday life, spoken by more than half a million people and taught in schools; the language is incorporated into place names and street signs and can be heard on television and the radio.

When moving your household goods to Wales by sea freight, this will typically take 5 to 7 working days for an FCL service. For services such as LCL and shared container services (i.e. groupage), these will take longer to reach your destination as your goods will need to be consolidated with other consignments heading to the same destination. Please discuss these options & shipping times with your removal consultant, as shipping times will vary greatly for each destination when using this type of service over an FCL service.

It is recommended that you do not ship items to Wales which have been “owner packed” as they will attract stringent inspection by Customs on arrival. It is advisable to have your goods packed by your moving company to ensure the clearance process can be conducted with a minimum of fuss.
